BeBe is a member of the musical Winans family, who are known across America for their soulful gospel singing. His family is deeply religious, and BeBe was first noticed when American TV show Praise The Lord (PTL) invited him and his sister CeCe to sing on the programme.

During their time on PTL, Bebe and Cece recorded Lord Lift Us Up, which became a huge success, and persuaded BeBe and CeCe to make a full length album, which did phenomenally well in the US charts.

BeBe and CeCe later left PTL to pursue their singing careers and recorded four albums together including Heaven, Different Lifestyles, First Christmas, and Relationships. Then, in 1995, BeBe and CeCe split up to go solo.

BeBe signed with Atlantic records and put out a self-titled solo debut in 1997, which featured hit singles In Harms' Way, Thank You, and the international R&B/pop crossover hit I Wanna Be The One with British R&B group Eternal.

In 2004 he played an FBI agent in The Manchurian Candidate, alongside Jeffrey Wright.

There are rumours BeBe is recording another album with sister CeCe, and there are whispers of an international tour next year.
