Promise Dreams are pleased to announce their third annual Run for Dreams which will be taking place on Sunday 6th July 2008 from Molineux to West Park. We were delighted with the support this event received last year despite the wind and rain, and thanks to the commitment of those who took part, and those who sponsored them, over £22,000 has been raised to make dreams come true for seriously and terminally ill children. Promise Dreams' Patrons Suzi Perry, Don Goodman and Steve Bull MBE will be on hand once again to take everyone through the warm up and then compare times at the finish!! We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part last year, it was great to see everyone getting involved to help us raise much-needed funds. I am taking part in the Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride in July of this year. This is no ordinary challenge, 1000 miles cycling for charity, but it is made easier when there is such personal drive and motivation to do it. This comes from my brother in law, James Brown, who since losing his wife, Katrina Brown aged 30 in 2004 after collapsing at the end of the London 10k race, has worked and dedicated his time and efforts to raising awareness of Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) and collecting money for the Charity CRY. See how people lived on the Home Front, experience life in a field hospital and in an army barracks. Watch the soldiers train for battle and see them in action on the battlefield. The emphasis on these workshops in the Shakespeare Memorial Room will be on providing a safe, fun and creative environment for developing and sharing creative written work. The workshops will comprise individual and group writing exercises (mainly the former) around specific writing techniques using examples by way of demonstration. Participants will be given opportunities to read work to the group and receive constructive feedback. At the end of the second day or shortly afterwards, participants will receive a brief written report on their writing strengths and possible areas for development.
