Enjoy Mariah's Sweet Scent

Mariah Carey smells like marshmallows – that’s according to US TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

On her programme on Wednesday she told the singer star, who was one of her guests, that she had the odour of “s’mores” – a marshmallow snack sold in shops in America.

Mariah replied: "I'm not really a fragrance girl. I don't really like scent."

She then spritzed Ellen from head to toe with her new perfume, M by Mariah Carey, adding:  "But the company was like, 'We want this to be a representation of you.' "

"The marshmallow element you smelled before is the top note and was a subliminal thing – just to give you little campfire memories.”

Ellen joked: "My signature scent of course, is gin and Marlboros."

"When you come home with it on, they're like, 'You've been out. ... No, I have Ellen's perfume on!' "
