A career in the media was almost inevitable for Rachel. Her mother’s job as a television presenter meant childhood holidays were spent with such luminaries as Brian Cant and Valerie Singleton. She’s even appeared naked on national television… aged two, in ‘the bath through the round window’, on an episode of Playschool!

It wasn’t a direct line into media for Rachel, though. Early jobs earned her a life membership of the World Federation of Supreme Hairdressers, before embarking on a career in entertainment with a job as a Serving Wench in a Mediaeval Tavern (Rachel is keen for us to point out that this was, in fact, a reproduction Mediaeval Tavern, otherwise she’d be a Timelord... which she’s not).

Eventually, Radio beckoned. She’s had jobs at several stations around the Midlands, before finally arriving at the biggest of the lot - Heart!
