Michelle's Red Carpet Step Out

Michelle Williams has made her first red carpet appearance since the death of her ex, Heath Ledger.

She made a last-minute appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote her film Wendy and Lucy.

Her people confirmed in a statement: "It was decided on Monday night that she could come to Cannes, and she got on the next plane to arrive just in time to get dressed and come to our premiere.”

"She came in and had a long nap and then came to the screening."

27-year-old Michelle has kept a low profile since Heath died last January of an accidental overdose.

He was 28-years-old.

They had a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, together.
