At the recent eve Style Show, we caught up with Nicky Hambleton-Jones.
In her top five tips, the star of Channel 4's 'Ten Years Younger' reveals how you can stay looking young and beautiful, even during the holiday season.
1 Drink 2 litres of water every day. The party season is when we drink the most and this causes the skin to be dehydrated. By drinking lots of water this helps re-hydrate
you from the inside out, making your skin look plumper to give you a more youthful complexion.
2 'Tis the season to drink alcohol, so indulge in some red wine! Red wine is full of anti-oxidants which helps to protect the skin from damage. The younger and cheaper the wine, the better, as it has more of those anti-oxidants. So enjoy yourself and do something positive for your skin!
3 What you eat is really important. Get as much vitamin C and E as you can as these help maintain a good complexion. Eat dairy products, blueberries, avocados, and broccoli. My top tip is to eat 7 prunes a day - these contain all the antioxidants you need to protect your skin against smoke, pollution and UV rays.
4 I know it's winter but the sun is still out there! My advice is to wear sun protection or a moisturiser with SPF. Your skin is exposed to the elements all the time, so if you want a bit of a glow this season, keep off the sunbeds and exfoliate once a week instead - you'll notice an improved difference in your complexion.
5 Finally, lets go back to basics...take your make-up off every night! You need to cleanse to get rid of dirt and other pollutants from the day. By leaving your make up on, it will age your skin by 7-8 days every time! So by being lazy and going to bed in your make-up for half the week, this will age your face by a month! Be warned!
