If you’re into British pop music you’ll have heard of Kenny Thomas. This blue-eyed soul singer, born on a North London council estate, had a string of big hits during the 90s. In 1991 alone he managed three top-20 singles, while his album Voices went in at number three and sold more than half a million copies! In 1992 he was nominated for two BRIT Awards.
His second album in 1993 Wait For Me had guests Nu Colours and The Young Disciples to help him out and made number 10 in the album chart.
But after his record label was bought by EMI in 1995, poor Kenny seemed to slip from the pop radar. He still made a living though, touring Ibiza, Majorca and even the Middle East, where he was hugely popular!
Kenny enjoyed a revival in 2005 when he went on ITV's Hit Me Baby One More Time, with Shakin’ Stevens and Shalamar. Elvis-wannabe Shakey went on to win the talent show.
In 2006 Kenny supported Level 42 on their UK tour and released a new album called Crazy World, that was well received, especially by the Evangelical community as Kenny is a committed Christian
