The Golden Compass

What's it about? In a parallel universe, a girl journeys to the far North to save her best friend children from terrible experiments by a mysterious organization.
What type of film is it? Fantasy
Is it any good? Not really sadly. What they’ve done is cram too much of the book into one movie while cutting chunks that should have really been left in. What you end up with is something a bit messy and disjointed, but looks great. The leads are quite dull and the script is a bit up itself but, as I say, it looks great. It’s no Lord Of The Rings and just a bit disappointing over all.
