Ed and Radio...
When was your first radio broadcast?
The kids 'What’s On' diary on Radio York when I was 12!

Best thing about working on Heart!
First of all the people, I genuinely really enjoy working with SJ in the morning and Hellon on a Saturday. Producer Pete, even though as tight as a banjo string is a nice guy too! Also just having fun and being myself, we talk on the show about stuff we talk about when we’re out, showbiz, celebs, TV, kids, normal everyday stuff… and we play some darn good tunes!

Who would be your fantasy celebrity interview?
I’ve been lucky to interview some really cool people from Paul McCartney to Rod Stewart… even David Hasslehoff! However, the ultimate would have been Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. They pretty much started everything off! They were at the top of their game and still made plenty of time to party! You can still see the influence they have when you look at people like Robbie!

More about Ed...

Do you have any hidden talents?
I can play the theme from the flake advert on the sax!!

What’s your best chat up line?
"Hello, I know Steve Denyer!" - Just watch the girls turn to jelly!

What three words best sum you up?
Happy, Fun, childish!

What's your Karaoke song?
Beatles – Hey Jude

What do you love about The West Midlands?
The vibe! It’s a really exciting place to be and there are loads of really cool bars and restaurants – Brindley Place and Summer Row are my favorities. The shopping is excellent too with Merry Hill, Touchwood, Mailbox, Selfridges, House of Fraser and Bullring. There’s also loads to do for the kids too The Sealife centre, Millenium point, Dudley Zoo not far away and all the parks. Also Birmingham is big enough to feel exciting but small enough to still feel a part of it. You don’t feel swamped like you do in London. It’s like a Mr Kipling cherry bakewell… just the right size!

What makes you feel good?
Music, champagne, excercise, laughing, watching 24 or Lost! But most of all being with family and friends.

Do you have any bad habits?
No, None!

Ever told a lie?
Yes, see above

Have you ever flirted on a bus?
I get accused of flirting all the time, mainly with waitresses when we’re out for a meal! Flirting's great… it’s harmless and just a bit of fun!

Winter or summer
Even though I love Christmas, it has to be summer! How great do you feel when it’s warm, the sun is shining and you’re sitting in a beer garden or wine bar with an ice cold pint of Magners topped up with ice?!

Which one word best describes the West Midlands?
Exciting!

What do you do to make the trip into work bearable?
Listen to Heart!

What song are you most embarrassed about loving?
David Hasselhoff – Jump in my car!

Red, White or Rose?
Red

What would you do if you were invisible for the day?
Turn up to the White House and follow George Bush around… just to see if he’s as stupid as we think!

If you could have one Superpower, what would it be?
The ability to fly – it would be handy to avoid all the traffic like the M6 and Holloway circus!

What is your Time Tunnel year?
The year I started Uni – 1995. Brings back loads of memories of embarking on 3 years of having lots fun and no real responsibilities!

What's the most romantic thing you've ever done?
Proposed to Den three years ago in a Sydney Hotel suite overlooking the opera house. We should be married now but we keep on having kids!

What's your biggest Fashion Faux Pas?
When I was 14 at secondary school I thought it would be cool to buy a tank top! I still think it looked Ok but to be the only tank top in a school of 500 jumpers is just asking for trouble! I think that’s where my thick skin comes from!

Are white lies OK?
To stop people getting hurt, then yes. There’s a can of worm opening question if ever I heard one!!

Had any disastrous dates?
On the first date with a new girlfriend I ran over a dog, she was inconsolable and I had to take her home. On the second date I took her to Leeds and got confused with the one way system( I’d only been driving 2 months!!) I went the wrong way down a one way street and was given a court appearance date and a police escort out of the city. Amazingly we ended up seeing each other for about a year!!

Tell us your favourite joke.
How many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?
One, but it has to want to change!
