JT, as he is sometimes known, has always wanted fame. But his beginnings were hardly glamorous – he first started singing country music songs aged 10 on crass TV talent show Star Search!

In 1993 he finally scored lucky, earning a place on hit US show The Mickey Mouse Club with other child-hopefuls Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. When the show ended he joined boy band ‘N Sync, and enjoyed loads of fame and adoration from screaming teenage girls.

Then in 2001, JT re-invented himself with a smash debut solo album Justice and sexy new image to boot. The album was a number one seller and sold seven million copies worldwide. 2006’s album FutureSex/LoveSounds enjoyed similar success.

JT is most famous for his steamy on-stage encounter with Janet Jackson in 2004. They were both singing together in front of 140 million viewers when he tore off part of her black leather costume, accidently exposing her breast. They were both banned from the 2004 Grammy Awards unless they agreed to apologise on TV.

He then dabbled in films for a while, appearing as a young Elton John in This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore. But thankfully, the young star has decided to refocus his attention on music, with a string of collaborations with Nelly Furtado and Timbaland.
