A new Knight Rider TV series is in the works.
US TV Network NBC has announce it’s is bringing back the action show about a crime fighter and his talking car – made famous by David Hasselhoff.
To whet the appetite, the channel will air a two-hour TV movie/pilot before the end pf the year.
If it’s popular enough, they’ll commission a whole series which will be produced by Doug Liman – the producer of the Bourne movies starring Matt Damon.
Knight Rider revolved around Michael Knight, an undercover cop shot in the line of duty and left for dead.
After getting a new face and identity, he becomes the lead agent for a dying billionaire's secret Foundation for Law and Government, where he's partnered with the yappy Trans Am, K.I.T.T.
There’s no word yet on whether The Hoff will be involved in the new version, which if given the go ahead, will hit TV screens either late next year or early 2009.
