Mamma Mia: The World Premiere

The blue carpet was rolled out through a lemon grove at the world premiere of Mamma Mia! The Movie in London on Monday night.

Leicester Square was transformed into a grove to resemble the location of the film adaptation of smash hit musical.

Thousands of fans turned out to catch a glimpse of big names including Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth (right), Pierce Brosnan and Julie Walters.

Tom, talking to Heart as Abba songs blasted out, said: “I did not realise how many Abba songs I know... I know them all.”

“That Benny and Bjorn they're diabolical geniuses.”
