Les: Elton's A Fortunes Fan

Les Dennis has told Heart Sir Elton John's a huge fan of Family Fortunes.

He says he had no idea until the singer approached him a few years ago on a flight to Los Angeles.

Les told us: “I’m always surprised when someone who I think is fantastic knows who I am.  I was flying on BA and got upgraded to first and it was like flying on the Ivy.” 

“Elton and David Furnish were up front and behind me was George Michael and Kenny Goss.  I was sat there with Amanda (Holden) and about and hour in, David Furnish stood up and stretched looked back and then whispered something to Elton and I thought, “He’s not talking about George being here” he’s actually saying “That bloke from Family Fortunes is behind us”!”
 
“Then about five minutes later, Elton came down and went “Hi, we love your show.  If anything goes wrong in our house we go "uh uh"!”

The 54-year-old – who is due to become a father for a second time this week -  says those aren’t the only famous fans he has.

Les told Heart: “I was once at the Mirror awards and Posh and Baby Spice were there and Emma came up and said, “I’d love to be on Family Fortunes, if you ever do a celebrity version can I be on?” Of course, it didn’t happen and now Vernon’s doing the celebrity version.”
