Zac Resting After Quick Op

Zac Efron was hospitalized Tuesday for an appendectomy – that means he has had his appendix taken out.

According to his spokesman the 20-year-old High School Musical star was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for the surgery.

They explained: "Zac had his appendix removed and is recuperating."

Zac, who just signed on for a third installment of High School Musical, is currently shooting the feature Seventeen with Matthew Perry.

He’s not the only HSM star to go under the knife recently.

Ashley Tisdale has had an operation on her nose to correct a deviated septum which was making it hard for her to breath.
